You too can break ankle with a killer cross over

23 Jan, 2013

Have you ever dreamed of crossing someone up so bad that they fall on the ground and get back up embarrassed? After you read this article, you will be feared because of your crossover dribble. People will give you so much space, you will be able to shoot all day long!

The art of deception

Have you ever noticed that some players keep blowing by defenders, even when they don’t have the best handles? Their secret is this; every time they change direction, they change speed. So the first piece of advice is this; do not go as fast as possible all the time but change your speed every time you change direction.  Say your teammate comes to set a screen on the right side, act like you’re going go right to use the screen. As soon as your defender starts going right to overplay the screen, go left quickly and blast to the basket!

One-two punch

Let’s use the above example. You are dribbling and waiting for the screen to come on your right. When the screen is set, dribble between your legs from your left to your right, act like you are going to use the screen, and use a quick dribble below your knees to go back to the left. The killer cross over is really like a one-two punch.
